Stove Caused Fire
posted (May 7, 2018)
This afternoon at around two another fire occurred at the upper flat of Chinese vendors home on Central American Boulevard. Station Officer Orin Smith gave us a few details and it seems the fire was caused by a stove that was not properly turned off:

Orin Smith - Station Officer, National Fire -Station
"On responding to that fire, arrival on scene, we saw smoke and flames coming from a window on that lower flat of a 2-story concrete structure. Preliminary investigation revealed that the lower flat was occupied as a shop by a Chinese vendor who occupied it. That individual had left the structure to retrieve their child at the school. That individual reported that prior to leaving the home there were doing some cooking and they had turned off the stove. Apparently, the stove was not fully turned off as a result, the fire destroyed the kitchen area of that structure. The upper flat was not damaged as a result of the fire"
