Man Still Missing, Villager Charged for Murder, Says The Ghost of Garcia Got To Him
posted (May 10, 2018)
6 weeks ago, we told you about 35 year-old Alaine Garcia. He's the Hattieville Villager who went missing on the morning of February 23. Well, even though his body has not been found, police have charged another Hattieville Resident for murder.

Garcia's family was frantic about his disappearance, because he is described as a family man who was always in communication with his common-law wife, and was also very attentive to his children. But, on the day in question, he walked his wife to the roadside, and while heading back to their house in the Windmill area, Hattieville residents heard gunshots. He was seen fleeing for his life, and that was the last time anyone has seen or heard from him. His body, or his remains have not been found.

Nonetheless, today 45 year-old Albert Jones, a fisherman from Hattieville was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford for Garcia's murder. According to the cops, he was questioned, and he gave them a statement confessing that he killed Garcia. He told police he confessed because Garcia appears at his bed side ever night - and it was weighing heavily on his conscience.

On the strength of this statement, he was formally arrested and charged - even without the body - which he allegedly chopped up and threw in the river. After that, he allegedly buried the machete. And what was the reason for this murderous rage? Because, Garcia had allegedly beaten up Jones's son.

It's a story that leaves you shaking your head. And Jones has enough time to reflect on it tonight in prison. He couldn't be offered bail, and he has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until the next adjournment of his case, on August 10.
