posted (May 10, 2018)
Last night, 50 year old security guard Merrick Lambey was shot in his home when a gunman barged in. Lambey lives in the gang warzone of the Curl Thompson Street area. He was sleeping on the couch in his living room when he heard a knock at the door. Police told us what happened next:

ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division
"He was inside his sofa sleeping when he heard a noise coming from the front door; suddenly he realized a person was beside him and fired several shots at his direction. As a result, he suffered several gunshot injuries to his right foot and his left foot and to his right elbow. He is presently admitted in a stable condition at this moment."

"You all have a very strong presence in that area and we know that there's been a lot of feuding in there. Has the crime reach a stage where the police no matter how heavy their presence, are unable to contain it in that Jane Usher Boulevard area?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"We know that there have been an increase of shooting incidents in that area and police have step up their patrols, they have posted patrols in most of this area where the shootings have been happening. I know that this morning there is another operation that is taking place at the Jane Usher area to try to contain what has happened during last week and that will continue this week and I have been informed by the commander that there will be more boots in the area, especially more at the back of Jane Usher area."

Lambey is in a stable condition.
