Charged for Monge Murder

One man has been charged for the murder of 23 year old Las Flores resident Luis Monge. He was fatally stabbed early last week Friday morning near La Cabana club when he tried to run down a chain snatcher. Police caught the suspect at the scene and charged him on Saturday. He is 35 year old Richard Hyde, a Butcher of Camalote Village.

Police told us more today:

"Police was in the area early Friday morning some time shortly after 3, when the police observed a struggle between 3 persons. Upon the police's approaching the area where the struggle was going on, 2 of the persons fell during the struggle and the third person attempted to run away but was caught up with by the police, whom they had a brief struggle as well in an attempt to escape. However, he was shortly recaptured and brought into custody and has since been arrested and charged for the crime of murder. Other charges are forthcoming as soon as the other witness is able to give his statement those charged will be proffered."

Hyde is still facing charges for the heist at the income tax office in Belmopan in July of 2016. He will now be remanded for murder.

As noted in the story, he faces other charges for injuring Monge's friend and for stealing the chain.
