So, indeed, everyone is keeping an eye on the BDF’s border fence project - and that includes the Minister of National Security John Saldivar. He took a closer look yesterday when he visited the area accompanied by CEO Felix Enriquez along with other BDF personnel. A release says, “the improved security measures have become necessary due to the increasing volume of activity at the border, particularly trade, tourism and citizens crossing…Guatemala. The safety of Belizeans and visitors using the border crossing is also a concern that is being addressed in the upgrades being done by our ministry.”
As we have reported the BDF Light Engineers are building a fence in front of the Adjacency Zone office and mending the existing gates and fences. The project is expected to take no more than six to eight weeks to complete.
