Union Pres Says Others Also Failed To “Come-Up”
posted (May 18, 2018)
As we told you, the BNTU was supposed to give a third of the funds to sponsor the event. BNTU President Elena Smith said they weren't the only ones who couldn't "come-up" as requested:...

Hon. Elena Smith, BNTU President
"BNTU made no contributions towards but please I want to make it clear. It is not only the BNTU that said they could not contribute. We were informed again at a meeting that managers said they were unable to contribute but they were asked to give whatever little they could give whether that was done we are not aware o both groups had some difficulty in contributing towards today."

"We had said that we would not be able to contribute towards the cost today's celebration but we have never said that our teachers would not be joining in the celebration. Our teachers made a choice those who chose to come here were here and those who chose to go to school it's their choice and we can force on them or tell them exactly what they should do. They have an option to either go along with the celebration whether it is national, school, or branch level or they can go to school so they made their choice."
