Making Mentors For Youths
posted (May 18, 2018)
Very regularly, we report on initiatives by the police department to try and steer young people away from a life in conflict with the law.

Well, the cops are making a second attempt at their Youth Mentorship Program.

The kids who participate are paired with adult mentors who work with them in a classroom setting, and exposed to sports, life skills lessons, and educational tours around the country - all in the hopes that they stay away from a life of crime.

Starting next week, a new cohort of children are about to benefit from the program, and the Police Department held an opening ceremony at the Radisson.

We found out more:

The Deputy Commissioner was grateful to the sponsors, and the mentors who agreed to help continue the Youth Mentorship Program.
