So that's the second case of murder and arson in a week.
In the arson murder case in Belmopan from last week, the cops confirmed what we reported on Friday: that they had made some major headway in the investigation of Bruce Davidson.
As we told you, police found Davidson's vehicle, a Mahindra Pickup, burnt on the outskirts of Belmopan. They also recovered some of Davidson's personal belongings, including a phone system, at a house in Roaring Creek Village.
Here's what the Head of the National Criminal Investigations Branch had to say about the case today:
ACP Joseph Myvette- Head of NCIB
"On Friday last, May 18th, based on information received police conducted a search in Roaring Creek Village where several electronic items were recovered and later identified to be those of the missing man Bruce Davidson."
Daniel Ortiz- Reporter
"Have police been able to determine how these items ended up at this residence?"
ACP Joseph Myvette
"Well, certain information was given to the police, which we are following, but three persons are detained pending charges of handling stolen goods, also in relation to that investigation, police visited an area just on the outskirts of Belmopan on the Hummingbird Highway where a burnt Mahindra was seen just on the outskirts of Belmopan on an off-road."
Police still have to wait on DNA results to confirm that the charred remains found are those of Bruce Davidson, who remains missing at this time.
