Belize's Fire Chief Ted Smith is currently in Virginia at the Hanover Fire Academy visiting two Belizean fire fighters, Patrick Parks and Johnny Cardenas. The two men are on a six month course at the academy.
Smith was accompanied by The President of the Virginia Emergency service for Belize, Archibald Mcfarlane who is a Belizean American along with Paul Mauger a retired fire chief from Chesterfield County in Virginia. In February Mcfarlane and Mauger came to Belize for one week and toured the facilities countrywide and provided training sessions for firefighters in leadership, management, and strategic planning.
