This morning the Bliss was filled with an excited audience and enthusiastic performers for the opening of the 2018 Festival of Arts. "We will have performance art showcase every day starting tomorrow with the Pre School golden showcase. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday we have the primary schools from every district performing daily at 10 am. On Thursday we have the secondary schools competition and we close off with chords and voices which is a special concert in the festival of arts on Saturday, June 2nd at 6 pm."

"We continue to be impressed and inspired by the level of performances and the talent we see coming to the stage year after year. We are also noticing year after year that there is increased participation at all levels starting from pre-school upwards. More students are participating in the Festival of Arts and we are also beginning to generate a lot of audience support as well for which we are very grateful."

"It is very important because the expressive arts is a vital part of their holistic development. Both for children and youths. It is really important for us to also try and embrace the theme that we are coming with this year in the festival which is "Pathway to Peace, Creativity, and Unity because we want to also recognize that the expressive arts can play a role is a social transformation."

A total of 1500 students are participating in this year's festival. You can see the National Preschool Golden Showcase live tomorrow morning at 10:00 on Channel 7.

The National Festival is the culmination of Festivals held in each district from February to May. The National Festival runs from the 25th May to 2nd June.
