There were a number of scary armed robberies this weekend. The first happened on Friday night at around 11:20 at Wayo's Bar in the Boca Del Rio of San Pedro Town.
Two men stormed into the bar, and both were armed: one of them with a 9 millimeter pistol, and the other with a sawed off shotgun. The man with the shotgun stood guard at the entrance of the bar, while the man with the pistol demanded that the money in the cash register be poured into a bag. While the bartender was doing that, the robber fired a shot towards the bar, which ricocheted and hit 26 year old Osner Campos to the back of his head.

"Mr. Campos was working at WAYO'S Bar located at beachfront in the Boca Del Rio area when 2 male persons entered the establishment and held up the owner of the place and some patrons that were inside. As a result one of the person fired a shot that and ricochet at Mr. Campos, injuring him to the back of his head. He was brought to Belize City and on the following day he was discharged, because his injury is not life threatening."
"They are vulnerable because of the location there. Boca Del Rio is an area that is far from the main center or from the town, just like the robbery of the gas station the last time Caribena. It was at a distance from the main town. Those guys really takes advantage because police presence is not much there as is concentrated in the town."
The robbers escaped with an undetermined amount of cash. We are told police have two suspects.
