The PUP had a rare contested convention in Corozal Bay on Sunday. It was a five way race between
Thea Garcia-Ramirez, Freddy Alex Ewens, Shamir Alpuche, Edwardo 'Dado' Torres 26 votes and, David 'Dido' Vega.
In total, 2042 voters went out to the St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic School in Corozal Town. And, at 7:00 pm, the Party Chairman announced the winner - who clinched the convention by a large margin:
Thea Garcia-Ramirez was second with 407 votes, Freddy Alex Ewens had 327 votes, Shamir Alpuche got 169 votes, and Edwardo Torres got 26 votes, while as you heard, David 'Dido' Vega, got 1079 votes.
