posted (May 29, 2018)
Valentine Baptist: he is accused of the 2016 bold daylight killing of Devin Parham. Well, Baptist is back in court for firearm offenses, not for the murder charge. When he appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, he changed his initial plea of not guilty to guilty of possession of an unlicensed firearm. The report is that police saw him throw a glock 9 millimeter pistol in a Plues street yard shortly after Parham was killed. On July 6th 2016, Parham was walking home on Cemetery Road - right in front of Habet Hardware with one of his cousins when a gun man opened fire on them from behind. His cousin escaped but Parham was killed.

Senior Magistrate Ford sentenced Baptist to 2 years and stipulated that his remanded time is to be included in the sentence. Baptist has been in custody since July 8, 2016.
