Cop Pulls Gun On Cop At Station: Police Brass Hesitate To Bring Charges
posted (May 30, 2018)

A police constable in San Ignacio has requested court action against another constable who pulled a gun on him.  It happened on Thursday evening - in broad daylight right in front of the station - and was captured on the station’s surveillance cameras.

The dispute - it appears is over a woman constable - who is the partner of the constable who pulled the gun.  It seems, the other constable had innocently given her number to a young man in the cadet corps - and when her partner found out - he had hard words with the constable who gave out the number.
On Thursday afternoon after 4:00 this quickly escalated, and the aggressing constable pulled his 9 millimeter pistol on the other constable.  He reportedly cocked the gun and pointed it at the officer - again, right in front of the police station.

The constable who was targeted made a complaint requesting court action.  But when we asked the police press office about it on Monday - they said it was being dealt with internally.

Well, now the gun wielding constable is now right back at work, on active duty in San Ignacio  - and it seems police don’t plan to bring criminal charges.  We note that this is a case of alleged aggravated assault with a firearm - for which accused persons are usually remanded.

We’ll keep following the story.
