Kyne Gentle was from Esperanza - and last night there was an execution attempt in that western village. A gunman emptied out a clip on 28 year old Joseph August - who took five shots to the upper body, but somehow survived and is in stable condition tonight.
Police told us more:

"One Joseph August was inside a yard in Esperanza village when he was approached by a lone gunman on motorcycle who fired several shots at him, five of which caught him in the upper body. Upon the police's examination of the scene, a total of 12 expended shells and one live millimeter rounds was found. The victim Joseph August was transported to the San Ignacio community hospital where he remains in a stable condition. Police investigation into this matter is ongoing at this time."

"We heard reports that he recently came off a charge in court, he was acquitted or somehow released from a charge."

"Well, I can't say whether or not it was related, but yes, indeed, he was, he had recently get off a murder charge."
A few weeks ago, August got off on the 2012 murder of his cousin, Rene Vera.
