Alleged Murderer Asks For Bail After 7 Years
posted (June 4, 2018)
On Friday we told you about the surprising number of persons now getting bail for murder. And tonight, newly appointed Supreme Court judge, Justice Colin Williams is pondering the fate of one more man who has made such an application.

He is Matthew Moore - an alleged murderer - who has been remand for 7 years, since April of 2011.

Moore is accused of the shooting murder of 29-year-old Andrew Moses in March of 2011.

Moore applied for bail on Friday, asking the Supreme Court for bail so that he could be home with love ones as he awaits trial for murder. His Attorney Oscar Selgado submitted that Moore's rights to a fair trial within a reasonable time under the Constitution has been breached.

After listening to submissions made by both sides, Justice Williams has reserved his ruling for Friday.

Moore is back on remand as he awaits the judge's decision. Notably, the victim in this murder, Andrew Moses isn't the only male in that family to lose his life to gun violence. His brother Jason Sutherland was killed a month ago.
