Robbers Raid Courts Corozal

Last week, we told you about the spike in armed robberies in Belize City, and that disturbing home invasion in Ladyville by pretend police officers.

Well, there is one more out of Corozal. It happened at the Courts Branch in Corozal on last week Friday. 2 men barged in with a firearm at around 4:00 that evening, and they robbed the place of almost 6,000 in sales.

Today at the police press conference, the cops shared the details:

"On Friday, sometime around - well the report was made at about 8 p.m. The manager, Mr. Manuel Pech, for Courts Belize Corozal Branch indicated that at about 4 p.m., whilst at the branch [office], 2 male persons entered the establishment. 1 was armed with a firearm. They demanded money. They proceeded to the cashier, and from there, they retrieved $5,739 Belize currency, property of courts, or the proceeds from sales. And there was a customer in establishment as well, and he was robbed of his jewelry, a gold chain, a wedding band, and a cell phone. So, that is the report that we got. There is 1 person of interest - 2 persons of interest, and police are seeking those 2 individuals in regards to that matter."

As you heard, police are looking for 2 suspects.
