PUP Convention Season Results In Bitter Bickering
posted (June 4, 2018)
It's convention season in the PUP, and the hurt and hard feeling has led to some bitter and public bickering. First, on Friday night, the two camps in the Albert Division for Paul Thompson on one side, and Valerie Woods on the other got into a major dispute when vetting the list for the convention. There was the usual jostling over which names would stay on and which would go off, but Jermyn Galvez a member of the woods camp, concluded that candidate Paul Thompson had somehow threatened his life and put a hit on him. He went and made a police report saying as much and the party Chairman had to come and settle the matter. Both sides resolved the matter amicably the following day.

Then in Belmopan, rejected candidate Patrick Jason Andrews says his party's newspaper is attacking him - allegedly with the blessing of party higher - ups. He posted on Facebook today that he is checking with his attorney on how he can sue the Belize Times. This comes after a suitably named article in the Times penned by editor Mike Rudon. It's called "Nasty People" and goes. Unto call Andrews many names, including a few that you can't say on TV.
