There was a stabbing on the Compound of the newly opened CIVIC Center in Belize City on Friday night.
Basketball fans were there for the Finals of the NEBL where the Hurricanes emerged as champions against the Defenders. Unfortunately, one of the fans was stabbed by another man in what appears to be a disagreement which turned into a fight.
Police told us today that 20 year-old Tyrique Garbutt had to be rushed to the hospital with an injury to the chest and the upper right arm:

"What I have from that stabbing from Civic is that a Tyrique Garbutt, a 20 year-old, reported that, while at Civic, he got into an altercation with an individual. That individual is unknown to him, and that individual inflicted 2 stab wounds to him: 1 to his upper right arm, and 1 to the left side of his chest. He is listed in a stable condition, and he is scheduled to go under surgery shortly."

"Do you have the actual location on the Civic compound, where that happened, and the time?"

"No, I don't have that exact location at this time."

"So not even inside, or outside."

"I don't have that information. I think that it's outside, if I am correct."
As you heard, Garbutt police that he doesn't know who stabbed him.
