Men Dressed As Security Guards Robbed Spoonaz
posted (June 5, 2018)
Over the past few weeks, Belize City has seen a worrying number of broad daylight robberies in the downtown area. Yesterday it wasn't broad daylight, but almost midnight when robbers pounced on the owner of Spoonaz Cafe on North Front Street, near the Swing Bridge. At around 11:00, 69-year-old owner of the cafe Jeremy Spooner was closing up, when a man dressed in brown security uniform forced the glass door open and pointed a gun at Spooner. That's when another man in the same type of security uniform entered the cafe and robbed the 69-year-old of $5,000 dollars in different denominations. They also stole his licensed 9mm Glock pistol. No arrests have been made. When we visited today Spooner declined comment.
