And, this evening, the daylight robbers were back on Albert Street in the heart of the downtown area. Around 4:30, two men made an attempt to rob a small clothing and footwear store named ML Collections next to Mirage store. Full details aren't available but we saw police and CIB personnel on the scene canvassing the area. Reports suggest that the men attempted to rob the clerk, but she wouldn't let go of the money. Those reports also suggest the men may have been wearing security uniforms. Police say the victim refused to make a police report.
And though the robbers failed, and thankfully no one was hurt, It is the third Albert Street armed robbery event in less than a week. It suggests an element of organized crime because the robbers appear to be studying police movements. At present, the bulk of the police manpower is concentrated in the gang hotspots to prevent murders.
