posted (June 6, 2018)

Four men were arrested and charged for drug trafficking in a home search today. Three of the men are Ramclams, 55 year old father Dion, and his 20 and 25 year old sons Dedri and Deshawn, along with another relative, and 68 year old British National John Issac.

They were all in their home on Bachelors Avenue in the West Landivar area when the GSU and K9 unit searched the home and found 72 grams of cannabis.

They appeared unrepresented in court today in front of Magistrate Michelle Trapp.  20-year-old Dedri Ramclam chose to plead not guilty to drug trafficking but guilty to the lesser charge of marijuana possession. His father Dion told the court that about a month ago his son asked him if could smoke weed in the house. The father agreed, but told him to have legal amount of 10 grams.  Ramclam said he only found out today that his son had stashed 7 times that.

Since Dedri Ramclam is a first-time offender magistrate Trapp imposed a non-custodial sentence on him and fined him $700 plus a court fee of $5.00. He must pay by October 15th, 2018or he will be put in jail for three months. The twenty-year-old also expressed to Magistrate Trapp that police kicked down their door and brutalized him. He was directed to make an official complaint at the Office of Professional Standards.
