STREAMING As An Educational Tool
posted (June 7, 2018)
Today high school teachers became students in a cutting-edge workshop. It was all about helping teachers to develop new pedagogical practices for an area of study called "STREAMING". Sounds strange right? When we hear streaming we think of youtube or Netflix, but this time is all about education. We found out more from the presenter.

Dr Padmanabhan Seshaiyer, Associate Dean- George Mason University
"Stem stands for Science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and it is a way to present education in a holistic and meaningful way but by just having the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics without have the arts may not fulfill the holistic part so in order to make it more accessible and meaningful we had to in cooperate A into STEAM that makes STEAM and without literacy none of these subjects makes any sense so it has to include reading and writing and that is the R so if you actually put the S-T-R-E-A-M that makes it STREAM. Science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, mathematics but then I just decided to expand that to STREAMING because we stream movies. We stream audio, we stream a lot of things so why don't we stream education. STREAMING really stands for science, technology, reading, engineering, art, math, to inspire the next generation that is the ING in Belize for example so that is what STREAMING stands for."

Sponsored by the OAS, The "STREAMING" workshop was also done in Jamaica and the Bahamas.
