"Sometime around 9:30 on June ninth, Corozal police visited the New Land Community, this would be a Mennonite community and there they observed Isaac Nicholi, a thirty-eight-year-old teacher of Camp 112 of the New Land Community. From what police have been able to understand is that Mr. Nicholi and one Mr. Banman were on the horse and carriage traveling in the community when for some reason the horse that they were traveling on became frantic, upon pulling the carriage the horse became frantic and ended up in a drain with water. The carriage fell on top of Mr. Nicholi and he was submerged underwater. Efforts were made to try to take him out, however, they were unsuccessful and he died on the scene."
