Nurse Was With Her Two Children When Killed in RTA

As we told you last night - a nurse was killed in a fatal accident on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Police told us today that 43 year old Lemi Ewan was with her two children when she lost control of her Suzuki Gran Vitara and flipped multiple times:

"Miss Rosa De Jesus was driving the vehicle from Crooked Tree in the direction of Rhaburn Ridge when she lost control of the vehicle and caused it to overturn. Inside the vehicle were two minors, a a twelve-year-old and a nine-year-old. The twelve-year-old Christopher Ewan and the nine-year-old Astria Salam. They received minor injuries and they were treated and released from the hospital."

"Is there any information to suggest that she was flung out of the vehicle as often happens?"

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino
"Right. Having lost control of the vehicle, it overturned and flipped several times and in that she was flung from the vehicle."

Her children did not receive major injuries.

The Nurses Association of Belize notes that Nurse Ewan served for many years as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at the Northern Regional Hospital.
