The PUP Convention for Belmopan will be held on July first. As we have reported, there are three aspirants for the seat: Oscar Mira, Michelle Rodriguez and Wiezsman Pat. Like Rodriguez, Pat is a newcomer to politics. He is a career public officer who recently retired after 35 years and now wants to serve his adopted home of Belmopan. We asked him why:...
Wiezsman Pat, Candidate - PUP Belmopan
"It has been positive so far. I am a new comer as you rightly said. I don't bring any baggage with me. I have retired from government after 35 years of service. I have gained the experience in development. My last post was director for sustainable development. So I think I have that competence to actually move Belmopan to a higher level."

Wiezsman Pat, Candidate - PUP Belmopan
"No doubt. It's sad you know that we have reach this level in politics that where it's a money politics than the people have the capacity to come and contribute to the development of Belize. I think it's a sad situation that we have reached this far. I have seen it since I started to walk the streets in Belmopan - start to visit houses I felt it."
