Cops Make Major Weed Bust After Chase
posted (June 20, 2018)

The police Special Branch and the Gang Suppression Unit made a big drug bust yesterday. They got 25 pounds of marijuana off the streets.

At around 10:45 a.m., the Special Branch attempted to intercept a white Isuzu Rodeo, which was parked on Albert Hoy Street. When the driver of the vehicle saw the police, he sped off, and police set chase. While they were tailing the vehicle, the cops saw when he threw a black plastic bag out of the window.

They eventually intercepted the vehicle, and detained the driver, who has since been identified as 29 year-old Cordell Flores. The cops then escorted him back to the location where the plastic bag was thrown, and when they retrieved it, they found marijuana.

The SB officers then requested help from the GSU, and the two teams escorted Gilbert Flores to his Arlington Drive home. A thorough search of the residents led the cops to find 2 large parcels, which were wrapped in transparent tape, and then placed inside a black plastic bag. They also found 13 black plastic bags, and all of these packages contained marijuana.

Police escorted the drugs and Gilbert Flores to Police Precinct 3, and they weighed the drugs. The total weight was found to be 11.72 kilograms, or 25.8 pounds. Gilbert Flores was then arrested and charged with drug trafficking, and was arraigned today for drug trafficking.

But, it runs out he was already on Supreme Court bail for a similar offence.  So, he was denied bail and went back to jail for these two new counts of drug trafficking.  His next court date is August 28.

Notably, In 2015 Flores was acquitted of the 2009 murder of Alberto Allen.
