Taiwan Bankrolls SICA Presidency
posted (June 20, 2018)

The government of Belize is taking over the rotating presidency of SICA next month - and they need some funds to make it happen.

And to the rescue again is the Government of Taiwan, which has come up with another generous donation, and this time, it's a $510 thousand-US-dollar grant.

The cheque was presented by Taiwanese Ambassador to Belize, Charles Liu, to Foreign Minister Wilfred Elrington.  That ceremony took place at the Laing Building in Belize City.

This latest donation is addition to many scores of millions more provided over the last 10 years to support the institutional strengthening of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of all the SICA member countries.

Belize will hold Pro-tem Presidency of SICA, or the Central American Integrated System, from July to December 2018.
