There are two hold-ups to report from the south. 22 year old tour guide Jose Hernandez told police that early last Saturday he was socializing at Whispering Pines Restaurant and Bar in Silk Grass Village. He went into the restroom where he was attacked by two men - one held him up with a gun and stole over a thousand dollars in cash from him. But, he put up a fight and the robber's gun fell on the ground, discharging a live round in the process. No one was hurt, but the robbers ran off and police collected the weapon.
In another case - this one in Independence - 65 year old Modesto Bol was at home on Tuesday night at 11:00 when someone called him outside.
When he went to see who it was, he was attacked by three men who then stole his .22 Marlin Rifle. They also left Bol with minor injuries.
