Diesel Drops Slightly
posted (June 26, 2018)
Fuel prices are inching down. Last night at midnight, the price for a gallon of diesel went down by 22 cents to $10.75 in the city. And, 8 days ago, Regular fuel went down by 33 cents a gallon - leaving it at a still prohibitive $11.02 per gallon.

The good news is that the Ministry of Finance says this is the start of a trend. The technocrats promise that the pump price of Premium and Kerosene will decrease by a similar extent with the arrival of the next shipment at the end of this week.

A release notes, that fuel prices are stabilizing as OPEC has stepped up production to meet demand.

The release adds, quote, "The Government of Belize continues to work with PUMA and all other industry stakeholders to ensure that the current downward trend in world oil prices is passed on locally as quickly as possible." End quote.
