On Monday we told you about the robbery at the Moneygram office in Ramon's Plaza, Ladyville. 26-year-old desk clerk, Nekeisha Martinez was in the office on when a masked man wearing a security officer's uniform walked in, pointed a gun and her and demanded money. Martinez handed over about $4,000 dollars in cash to the gunman, who stuffed it into a green duffel bag and fled.
Police have since tracked down and arrested the alleged robber, who has been identified as 22-year-old San Hill resident, Jiovanni Augustine. Augustine was charged with robbery today when he appeared in court before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. He pled not guilty to the charge, but was denied bail and was remanded into custody until Thursday.
