Murder Suspects Were Throwing Dice With Victim

Police discussed this latest murder today at their weekly press briefing - they said that there are three suspects, who just happen to be the men he was socializing with! Here's the head of national crimes investigation, Joseph Myvette:

"Police investigation revealed that the person who is later identified as Melvin Locke, 50 years Belizean of Dangriga, was socializing with others inside a yard when they were approached by a gunman dressed camouflage clothing who fired four shots, two of which caught the deceased, one to the head and one to the chest area. Police investigation into this matter continues. We have so far detained three persons for interview and are continuing with our investigation."

"And these three persons who are detained, are they known rivals, or known suspects?"

"No, they were along with the deceased socializing."

"The home where it happened or the property where it happened is said to be a place where, ah, marijuana, or crack cocaine can be purchased. Is that an angle that police are looking at that it may have been some turf dispute or something related to underworld transactions?"

"We're not aware of that but we're looking at all angles in regard to this information."

We'll tell you if and when any of the suspects is charged. This is the third Murder in Dangriga since late April.
