Three Guatemalans who were caught in the Chiquibul National Park carrying a weapon - have escaped from prison. They were in the remand section and escaped between 1:00 and 3:00 on Sunday morning by prying open some louvers. Police told us more:..

"Between the hours of 1am and 3am on Sunday July 1st, 2018, three prisoners that were in the remand, rehab center, at the Kolbe Foundation escaped by prying loose the louvre windows from the dorm they were in and making their escape - making their way to the fence and eventually escaping. They are Ronnie Lopez, a thirty-one-year-old. His address is Dolores, Peten, Guatemala. He was there for ammunition and firearm offences. Abraham Depaz, a twenty-three-year-old, again, his address is from Flores, Peten, Guatemala. The third one is Encarnacion Depaz, a forty-one-year-old, his address is Dolores Peten Guatemala. All of them were there for firearm related offences and they were before the magistrate court in San Ignacio. They were on remand."
THE three men are from Dolores, Peten Guatemala - and are believed to be headed west to get back into Guatemala.
They were all remanded in February after being caught in the Chiqubul. They were on remand for offences of Kept unlicensed firearm and ammunition, illegal entry into a national park, as well as kept prohibited firearm.
