There was a major disruption in the cycling community this weekend when Sunday's National Road Championship was postponed with one day's notice. Technically, it's one of the most important races of the year, but the Cycling Federation felt it was forced to take the decision after after the Supreme Court issued an injunction forcing the Federation to allow Brandon Cattouse to ride. Cattouse is currently serving a provisional suspension for a banned substance.
The Federation felt it might itself be suspended by its governing body - the UCI - it if allowed him to ride. The matter will be argued tomorrow. The National Road Championship has been indefinitely postponed.
