posted (July 2, 2018)
Earlier on we told you about gang violence in the small southern village of Hope Creek - we'll there's also been an unusual spate of gun violence in quiet Punta Gorda - which, all of a sudden, is not so quiet.

On Friday night 21 year old Briton Jacobs survived a shot to the head - which fortunately - just grazed his head. Police say he doesn't want to cooperate with investigators:...

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
"On Friday 29th June shortly after 10:30pm, police responded to Jose Maria Nunez street in Punta Gorda Town where they saw on Brighton Jacobs, twenty-one-year-old, with an apparent gunshot injury to the back of the head. Initial investigations reveal that Jacobs was riding on Jose Maria Nunez Street when he was approached by two other male persons on bicycles riding in opposite direction, one of whom fired the shot that caught Jacobs to the back of the head. Police have since commenced an investigation into this matter. The complainant Mr. Jacobs has been interviewed, however, he is reluctant to cooperate with the police with regards to this investigation. In this case there is a main suspect. However, as I mentioned before, the victim is not requesting any court action and is also not cooperating with the police."

"We are still trying to seek a suspect and try to see how we can be able to remove that firearm off the streets.'
