Prime Minister Off to CARICOM Heads
posted (July 2, 2018)
Prime Minister Dean Barrow left the country this weekend. First, he's making a stop in the US to continue consultations on his ailing back - and then he's headed to the 39th CARICOM Heads of Government meeting, which will be held in Jamaica from July 4th to the 6th. At this meeting, the PM is expected to try and make a pitch for Belize's consumption grade sugar to penetrate the CARICOM market. It would still be a matter for COTED to decide, but he plans to raise it with the heads of government first.

During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber will take over as Acting Prime Minister until PM Barrow returns on Saturday, July 7.
