Before The Maya, What?
posted (July 3, 2018)
The 16th annual Belize Archaeology Symposium was held last week in San Ignacio. Organized by the Institute of Archaeology it brings together leading researchers and students to discuss the latest findings about mayan pre-history in Belize.

This year's event hoped to change that somewhat. Under the theme, "From the Early Formative to the Postclassic in Central Belize: Challenges to the Narratives of Ancient Maya Civilization" - it hoped to up-end some of the conventional wisdom on early civilizations in Belize.

The symposium ran from Wednesday 27th June 2018 to Friday 29th June 2018.
