Two Teenagers Charged For Killing Man And Stuffing Him In Couch
posted (July 4, 2018)

Eleazar Chan's murder was one of the most sensational of the year - and tonight police say two teenagers did it.

On Good Friday, the 42 year old Customs Broker from Luisville village was beaten to death inside his house in Luisville, and then his body was wrapped in a hammock and stuffed in his own couch.   The killers took care to remove his sofa from his living room, put his body inside the sofa, then went to the nearby village of San Pedro and left the couch in a cane field.  A bizarre end, and, a 19 year old and a 15 year old from nearby villages have been charged for murder.  19 year old Ronaldo Marin is from San Luis, and the 15 year old is from San Narciso.

Notably, Chan's .22 rifle was found in an abandoned house in San Jose Village last week Friday.  San Jose is in Orange Walk, the murder happened in Corozal. This clue is believed to have led police to the suspects.

Now, reports at the time were that three men were seen lifting the couch out of the house - and that it was drug related - but no third suspect has been named.
