Fantasy Five Win Leads To Charity
posted (July 4, 2018)

The Belize City Council is in a revenue crunch - so it welcomed a donation of two patrol bikes at the municipal transport department today.  Councillor Allan Pollard who's responsible for the Traffic portfolio says that when one guwonwer came up on a fantasy five jackpot, he shared the wealth:…

Allan Pollard - City Councillor
"Serrano's bus line, they offered to us to donate 2 motorcycles to the department which was well needed because one of the things here at the department is lack of mobility for the officers and they have to be deployed all over the city and we have 2 mobile vehicles that have to wait and drop off, pick up. So this is very instrumental part of the department now, knowing that 2 officers could mobilize around the city much better."

Jules Vasquez
"You all approached Serrano or Seranno approached?"

Allan Pollard
"We didn't, it was completely out of the blue when Mr. Serrano called me and said councillor well we in a situation, I think they won some lotto or something like that, fantasy 5 and they said they want make a donation to the department and I say we would welcome it. We greatly appreciate it and it caught me off guard but we appreciate it."

Tenisha Serrano - Serrano's Bus
"Well, my husband won the fantasy 5 and this was something that he always wanted to do, so he decided to donate 2 motorcycles to the traffic department, we also donated 2 the Ladyville police and also 2 to transport department and we also gave back to our people in Ladyville, we gave them a free day to ride the bus. So if they wanted to ride the bus from 6 o'clock in the morning until 8:30 in the night, they had that day to do that."
