Last night two adults and a minor were charged for robbery, attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, use of deadly means of harm and deadly means of harm. But, tonight, 3 San Pedranos, Nigel Williams, Christian Espat and a 16 year old minor are likely facing a charge of murder. That's because the man they are accused of shooting, 60 year old American Cliff Kirk has died at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland while receiving treatment for a gunshot to the head.
This morning, their local contact John Wassen posted this on his Facebook page: "Cliff passed away this morning. He was with his family and passed on peacefully."
The US Army Veteran was shot in his head at his home on Northern Ambergris Caye on Thursday morning by four men who stole firearms, a briefcase and a jet ski. He was a retired Lt. Colonel who lived on San Pedro for many years. He and his wife, Linda - also an army veteran - had built a self sustainable house 10 and a half miles north of San Pedro Town - on the west of the island - a remote location that could only be reached by watercraft.
On Thursday, the gunmen reportedly pulled up on jet ski's and accosted Kirk as he walked down the stairs.
