It's re-registration time, and that means staff from Elections and Boundaries could be coming around to your house to confirm that the persons who are registered there, actually live there. But, apparently, some fraudsters have been using the exercise as a way to get into homes.
The E & B office issued a notice today saying that "there are individuals impersonating Staff of Elections and Boundaries Department who are visiting residents to obtain information."
The release adds, quote, "all staff of the Elections and Boundaries Department is issued with Valid Staff Identification Card. The public is therefore advised to request such identification card prior to providing any information."
The release adds that at all times officers are to visibly display their identification card when conducting investigation at homes or any transactions on behalf of the Department.
So, if any suspicious looking individuals come around impersonating E & B Staff please report it immediately to the nearest Police Station.
