Man Found For Barroom Killing
posted (July 12, 2018)
Police say that they have solved a murder which happened 3 months ago in the Corozal Village of Ranchito.

On Sunday morning, April 15th, 38 year-old Emmanuel Evan Sosa was at Pasadina Bar. The female owner was attempting to close up for the night when a masked man with a sawed off shotgun showed up at the door. Sosa intervened on her behalf, and they started to argue. The owner got her door closed, and a short while after that, the robber shot him to death.

For several weeks the cops investigated, and today, they announced that they've arrested and charged one man for his killing.

Here are brief comments on the case from Assistant Police Commissioner Joseph Myvette:

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head - NCIB
"The arrest of one George Bednarik, twenty-one-year-old of Ranchito Village, has since been arrested and charged for the murder of Emmanuel Sosa which occurred in Ranchito Village in April of this year."

Reporter
"Are you able to share details of the arrest and how police were able to crack the case?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"Well, it definitely had to do with the investigation and the recording of several statements which pointed to the accused, as well as other evidence that was gathered."

It is expected that he will be arraigned and then remanded to the Belize Central Prison, since there is no bail for murder.
