Crop Duster Went Down In Cayo
posted (July 16, 2018)
A plane crashed and burst into flames today. It happened in central Belize, near More Tomorrow village, in the Cayo District. But, the plane wasn't carrying illicit cargo, it was a crop duster doing duties over vast acreages of corn fields in and around that village.

Police responded to the report along with the Civil Aviation department:.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head - NCIB
"Information was received on an aircraft accident in the More Tomorrow area. The area was visited by police and civil aviation, where upon arrival they met one, Henry Plett, who inform that whilst piloting a crop duster aircraft spraying rice fields in the area, the aircraft experience mechanical problems and as a result he attempted to land the aircraft and in the process he crash landed and shortly after, he was able to exit the aircraft. The aircraft burst into flames. He did not received any injury."

"The matter is currently under investigation by civil aviation."

The loss of the duster is sizeable in terms of monetary value - but, fortunately, the pilot was not hurt.
