Court For Croc Meat
posted (July 17, 2018)
Two men went to court today - for trying to sell 25 pounds of crocodile meat - which is illegal.

34 year old Raymond Augustine and 31 year old Fenton Reyes, were charged with "found in possession of wild life" when they appeared today before Magistrate Khadeem Palmer.

They pleaded not guilty and were released on bails of $1,000 each and their case was adjourned until September 5.

So, how did they get caught? Was it the "halligata from rivabattam" that snitched them out? Not quite. Police say that they found attempting to sell the bucket-ful of crocodile meat at the corner of Central American Boulevard and Neal Pen Road- which is home to a cluster of Chinese businesses.

But, it's illegal because Crocodiles are endangered, and they can't be freely hunted, or held in anyones; possession, whether alive or dead. The maximum penalty for possession of wildlife if the charge is under the Wildlife Protection Act is a fine of $1,000.
