She's a US diplomat who's become well known in Belize. But, now, US Embassy Chargé d Affaires, Adrienne Galanek is moving on. She rose to national prominence after the last Ambassador Carlos Moreno left when Donald Trump won the presidency. She's a US public servant, and not a political appointment like Ambassadors - was courteous even in departure:
Adrienne Galanek, US Embassy Chargé d Affaires
"I leave Belize with a heartfelt gratitude towards Belizean people and the confidence in what the future holds for our 2 countries. Let the friendship between the United States and Belize move ever upward."
Galanek's replacement is expected shortly.
Belize remains one of about 50 countries that have no Ambassador appointed since Trump took the presidency. Those include AUSTRALIA, Bahamas, Bolivia, CONGO, IVORY COAST, CUBA, ICELAND, IRELAND, JAMAICA.
