Chester Norales has been making crime news from the mid-90’s, where he’s been both victim and accused. And while his name has been called in some violent crimes, tonight he is in jail not for dangerous harm, or aggravated assault, but for sexual assault of a female minor.
The thirty-seven year old was sentenced to 4 years today by Magistrate Khadeem Palmer. She also sentenced him to 2 months for using insulting words.
Magistrate Palmer noted that the maximum sentence for sexual assault is 5 years but she refrained from giving him that penalty because none of his previous convictions are for offences of a sexual nature.
The 17 year old victim testified that In November of 2016 she was at a neighborhood grocery story when Noralez grabbed her backside and cursed at her. In his testimony Noralez denied he committed the offences. He said he went to the shop and ordered a Belikin stout and accidentally brushed against the girl.
Norales was much in the news in December of 2015 when he was accused of robbing and beating his neighbor 93 year old Patrick Grant in his house. He got off that crime in 2018, after both of the main witnesses - including the victim - died.
