Columbia Coming Through

Beltraide has teamed up with the South American country of Columbia to provide entrepreneurship training for various stakeholders in Belize, including universities and centers like YWCA. But it's not just a general training, the technical coordinator is focusing on specific methodologies that these stakeholders can use in their work. Here is more from the training.

"Today we are being visited by a consultant from APC Columbia under a project EDEM, the Presidential Agency of Cooperation from Columbia and basically what he is presenting is 9 best practices or methodologies from Columbia with the objective of presenting these to stakeholders of the Belizean Entrepreneur Ecosystem. Our objective is to get commitment from these stakeholders for the transfer of these methodologies, it is a two day workshop, today we start off here in Belize City and tomorrow we are traveling to Punta Gorda, our objective is to also to provide the same opportunities to stakeholders from the Toledo district. We are very much engaged in trying to develop an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for the Toledo district in order to provide services to entrepreneurs from thatarea."

"Okay, in general they are methodologies that are focused on two big steps, one big step is the early stage,  all the entrepreneurs have to walk and the other big step is about how to grow the new business, the newinitiatives.It is about education modules, it is about financial modules, it is about strategic like country, it is about financial instruments, it is about culture and mindset aboutentrepreneurship."

It is a two day workshop. The team goes to Punta Gorda tomorrow.
