And while it might have been minors and a toy gun, it was a terrifying robbery. Police gave details:...

"The other robbery incident happened hours after. This happened at Cortez Tortilla Factory which is located at #7 C Street, Belize City. Sometime in the evening, while she was behind the counter, 2 male persons jumped the counter and demanded that she hand over the day sales. One of them was armed with a knife and the other one was armed with what appeared to be a firearm. She fearing for her life, handed over a cash register and her cell phone. The register contained $16.40 and her cell phone is valued at $850. The 2 male persons made good their escape."

"Quick police response in the area lead to the detention of 3 minors and also a taxi. I know that the firearm was a suspected toy gun was used and placed on the person's body. It was suspected that this person took the cab, but when police were pursuing them, they were able to come out of the cab and just left the driver along with the imitation firearm inside the cab."

Police say they suspect that the three minors, who are well known to police, were also involved in a previous robbery at a barber shop not from where this incident took place. As for the cab driver, police say he is not connected and simply had the terrible misfortune of picking up the wrong people.
