The National Emergency Management Organization NEMO is talking about gender equality among other things. NEMO in partnership with UN Emergency Task Team (UNETT), is currently holding a three day workshop with stakeholders at Dream Valley in the Teakettle Village of the Cayo District. One of the main topics of discussion is gender equality in the context of Disaster Risk Management, climate change adaption in the execution of duties and emergency care for the vulnerable in times of disaster.
All this, under the premise that women bring unique experiences and valuable skills that could benefit disaster risk mitigation and preparedness.
NEMO's national and district committees and other stakeholders are attending the three day workshop.
