Stealthy Criminals Slip Into Waste Control, Steal Gun & Safe
posted (July 27, 2018)
And while the police worked hard to get those stolen guns off the street, within hours, another one was in circulation.

At around 4:30 this morning, a group of very organized criminals slipped into the compound at Belize Waste Control and did some major damage. First they cut a hole through the fence, and then subdued the armed security guard and stole his Luger 9 millimeter pistol. They ripped out the alarm, cut off the power, disabled the backup generator and then stole a small safe from the office. The safe contained about five thousand dollars in cash.

We note that this is the second time in three months that the Waste Control headquarters has been targeted. In April - also on a Thursday night - thieves tied up the security, got into the office, tied up the security, and broke open the safe. Police never issued a report, but we were told, they got off with a substantial amount of money.
